What we are?
An organisation for past members (Old Boys' and Ex-Officers), along with
serving officers, friends and supporters of The Boys' Brigade.
What is the Stedfast Association?
Stedfast Associations are related to The Boys’ Brigade, the first
uniformed organisation for Boys, founded in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1883
by Sir William Smith.
They exist in various locations in different parts of the world as a
means by which former members (Officers and Boys) of the Brigade, their
wives or husbands, and friends/current members of the movement can have
a means of social contact with each other. At the same time, there is
the opportunity to keep in touch with what is happening in the Brigade,
and often to provide informal assistance & maintain links to the local
units (Companies or Battalions) of the Brigade.
What is the 1st Johnstone Stedfast Association?
The 1st Johnstone Stedfast Association was formed for the sole purpose
of keeping contact between ex-members & members of the company in
a more organised manner; we are not an official extension of the Company
nor directly affiliated to the Church.
For "local" members we hope to have Burns Suppers, Quiz Nights,
Bowling Days, Christmas Nights Out etc & for "not so local"
members we will continue to organise our very successful re-union dinners.
Please note in your Diary the very special
date of the 75th Anniversary of the Company in 2005.
Object
The object of the Association is to further the Object of The Boys' Brigade,
to foster the spirit of comradeship among past and present members of
the Brigade and to render service to others.
